Directions for Use

Note: Copper levels may test in the same range after using this product. The product is designed to ‘chelate’ the copper that is in the water to prevent staining. It will not remove copper from the water.

Copper Stain Prevention

Repeat this process every 6-8 weeks for copper stain prevention

1. Make sure copper level tests at 0.5ppm or higher
2. Turn off your ionizer or remove your copper cartridge, or stop using copper algaecide, so the copper level starts coming down
3. Balance pH to 7.6 – 7.8
4. Balance alkalinity to 80 – 120ppm
5. For Pools: Add 8 oz (1/4 of package) for every 10,000 gallons of water; For Hot Tubs: Add 0.2 oz (6 grams) for every 250 gallons of water
6. Adjust pH back to 7.2 – 7.8
7. Repeat this process every 4-6 weeks until the copper level tests at around 0.2ppm

Copper Stain Removal

Copper stains can appear on the sides or bottom of the pool as blue/green or black patches.

To remove blue/green or black stains from the pool bottom

1. Sprinkle Copper Control on the water over the stained area until the stain is completely covered
2. Wait for the product to dissolve and disappear
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the stain is reduced or removed

To remove blue/green or black stains from pool sides or other surfaces

1. Wet a sponge with pool water
2. Sprinkle Copper Control on the sponge liberally
3. Rub the sponge with the Copper Control lightly on the stained area
4. Repeat until the stain is removed
